THP-E organized a six-day intensive training on the facilitation process of Vision, Commitment and Action (VCA) in Butajira, Central Ethiopia Region. The training was designed to introduce the VCA facilitation process to THP-E staff by providing detailed lesson on how it is implemented within project intervention areas and create a common understanding of the VCA process among all staff members.
The training was facilitated by Country Manager, Teshome Shibru, who provided strategic guidance, practical instruction, and ongoing mentorship throughout the sessions, ensuring strong alignment between conceptual frameworks and field-level application.
The session incorporates the VCA manual and playbook developed by the Country Manager to guide implementation across diverse community contexts. These resources are intended to enhance consistency and effectiveness in facilitation practice.
Accordingly, it created a platform for staff to deepen understanding of the VCA approach, its key objectives, and step-by-step facilitation process.
Participants reported strengthened facilitation competencies, improved program delivery skills, and a clearer understanding of the roles and responsibilities of partners involved in implementation.
Through practical sessions, it allowed us to see hands-on experience in applying the hashtag#VCA approach within community settings, particularly in participatory planning and collaborative decision-making. Group exercises and discussions further reinforced applied facilitation skills and real-world practice.
Staff also noted it boosted confidence in facilitating community processes and improved ability to support structured and inclusive engagement with community members.
The Country Manager encouraged continuous feedback from participants to support the refinement of the manual and playbook as living documents informed by field experience.
In addition, a dedicated session on financial management was delivered by Budget and Grant Finance Manager, Dawit Zelelew. It covered key financial policies, procurement procedures, and compliance frameworks, contributing to strengthened understanding of financial accountability and operational integrity.
