The Central Ethiopia Region ECSC-SUN platform continues to strengthen collaboration and collective action in the fight against malnutrition across the region. Established in December 2024 by a coalition of 28 civil society organizations (CSOs), the platform serves as a key mechanism for enhancing coordination, knowledge sharing, and multi-sectoral engagement on nutrition priorities.
A one-day revitalization workshop was held on May 13, 2026, led by The Hunger Project Ethiopia as the lead organization of the ECSC-SUN platform in the Central Ethiopia Region. With financial support from Save the Children, the workshop brought together 18 civil society organizations and three teams from the National ECSC_SUN Secretariat of Save the Children Ethiopia. , reflecting a strong multi-sectoral commitment to improving nutrition outcomes across the region.
The workshop provided an important platform for reflection, dialogue, and collaborative learning. Through presentations, interactive discussions, and group engagements, participants reviewed progress achieved so far, identified implementation and coordination gaps, and explored practical solutions to strengthen the effectiveness and sustainability of the platform.
Key outcomes of the workshop included strengthened partnerships among stakeholders, clearer roles and responsibilities across platform members, identification of context-specific implementation gaps and solutions, development of a joint action plan, and improved communication and coordination mechanisms among partners.
Participants reaffirmed the critical role of civil society organizations in advancing nutrition priorities, promoting accountability, and ensuring that vulnerable and underserved communities are not left behind.
The revitalization workshop marks another important step toward building a more coordinated, inclusive, and impactful nutrition response in Central Ethiopia.
