The Movement for Community-Led Development – Ethiopia Association (MCLD-EA) successfully held its National Strategic Plan Implementation Workshop on December 4, 2025, bringing together members to develop a comprehensive and actionable plan for advancing the association’s strategic priorities.
The workshop began with a presentation on MCLD-EA, providing participants with an overview of the association’s structure, functions, and objectives.
Members then collaborated to define concrete steps, clarify roles, set timelines, and ensure alignment with Global Secretariat guidelines.
Teshome Shibiru, Country Manager of The Hunger Project Ethiopia and current Chair of MCLD-EA, highlighted that the workshop offered an important opportunity to refine strategies, share perspectives, and build consensus on moving the strategic plan from paper into action.
He recalled the importance of the workshop, referencing the strategic planning session held in Adama earlier this year.
Besides he acknowledged the active participation of members and underscored THP-E’s commitment to fostering community-led approaches, emphasizing that collective ownership and grassroots engagement are essential for successful implementation.
Participants also agreed to arrange for further input in the coming days to strengthen the draft plan.
Currently, MCLD-EA has 35 CSO members, including both national and international organizations, reflecting a diverse and collaborative network.
