Right2Grow Ethiopia held its project close-out workshop on November 25, 2025, marking the completion of four years of collaborative work to advance nutrition and child well-being across multiple regions. The gathering brought together government institutions, civil society organizations, development partners, and community representatives to reflect on successes, share lessons, and look ahead to future efforts in the sector.
Throughout the workshop, participants emphasized how the initiative strengthened leadership, fostered evidence-based advocacy, and improved coordination among actors working in nutrition, health, WASH, and food systems. The project’s focus on empowering communities and amplifying local priorities has contributed to stronger accountability mechanisms and more transparent use of public resources—helping ensure that nutrition commitments translate into real impact for children and families.
As part of the national effort, THP-E, together with its local partner GDCA, made a significant contribution in the Central Ethiopia Region. Their work centered on strengthening community-led systems, enhancing social accountability, and promoting coordinated nutrition and WASH actions. Key achievements included supporting functional Food Systems & Nutrition Councils, improving multisectoral collaboration, expanding budget tracking and evidence-based advocacy, and driving progress through the Healthy Village approach. These efforts helped amplify community voices, reinforce civil society engagement, and promote integrated humanitarian–development–peace approaches that create sustainable change.
Voices from the field shared during the event demonstrated the tangible improvements seen at community and system levels—ranging from more responsive local services to stronger alignment among government and non-government actors. Participants expressed a shared commitment to carrying forward the gains made, emphasizing that the structures, partnerships, and capacities built through Right2Grow will continue to benefit communities long after the project’s life.
With strengthened systems, empowered communities, and enhanced collaboration across sectors, the Right2Grow initiative lays a solid foundation for continued progress in advancing nutrition and child well-being throughout Ethiopia.
